Dry Weather, Chilly Mornings Persist in Punjab and Chandigarh; Strong Winds Likely

Punjab and Chandigarh are experiencing chilly mornings and evenings, while the sun is shining brightly during the day. The weather will remain dry from today until February 14th. Rain and fog are unlikely. Winds will definitely blow during the day.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature remained unchanged over the past 24 hours, remaining two degrees above normal. The highest temperature was recorded in Mansa at 25.3 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded in Faridkot at 5 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures exceeded the Meteorological Department’s forecast.

According to the weather department, strong winds will occur in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Moga, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Mohali, Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda, Faridkot, Ferozepur and Fazilka. Strong winds are likely over the next two days.

Temperatures aren’t expected to fluctuate significantly, and a slight increase is expected from the 11th. Currently, maximum temperatures across locations range from 21.7 to 25.3 degrees Celsius. Although the Meteorological Department had predicted temperatures of up to 24 degrees Celsius this week, the minimum temperatures are ranging from 5.4 to 9.4 degrees Celsius.

Western disturbance reaches the mountains

The western disturbance, which was previously located near northern Afghanistan, has now reached northern Pakistan and surrounding areas. It remains at an altitude of about 3 kilometers above the ground and is moving with the upward winds. Additionally, a new western disturbance may affect the western Himalayan regions by tonight. This could cause changes in weather in the mountainous regions.

The temperature will rise by 2 to 4 degrees from tomorrow.

Chandigarh Meteorological Department Director Surendra Pal Singh said that the weather is expected to remain dry for the next seven days. There will be no significant change in the minimum temperature over the next 24 hours, after which it may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Strong surface winds are likely at some places during the next 24 hours.
