In Punjab-Chandigarh, the heat will increase today; from the 16th, there is an alert for storms and rain

The heat during the day has started increasing in Punjab and Chandigarh. On Wednesday, i.e., 15th April, the weather will remain dry, but from the 16th, there is a possibility of rain and storm for four consecutive days. In the past 24 hours, a rise of 1.7 degrees in temperature has been recorded. Now it has reached close to normal. The highest temperature recorded was 37.2 degrees in Patiala and 35.4 degrees in Chandigarh.

The weather will be like this for four days

According to the Meteorological Department, although changes in the weather will be seen from this evening. On 16th April, there is a possibility of rain in some places in the state, while on the 17th and 18th, there is a yellow alert for storm, tempest, and lightning. During this period, winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. There is also a possibility of rain. On 19th April, there are also chances of rain in some places.

The weather will change from tonight

Over northwest India, a very fast-moving jet stream has formed at an altitude of about 12.6 kilometers in the sky, with a speed of about 110 knots, which is approximately 200 kilometers per hour. On Wednesday, a new but weak western disturbance is likely to become active in the western Himalayan regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. This may bring light rain or snowfall in these areas.

Temperature will increase by up to five degrees

Director of the Meteorological Department Surendra Pal says that there is a chance of light rain in some places between the 16th and 19th. In the next five days, the maximum temperature will gradually increase by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius, after which there will be no significant change in the temperature. On the 17th and 18th, in some places, strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour along with thunder and lightning may occur.
