A husband-wife AAP candidate won in the Mohali Municipal Corporation. Harvinder Singh won from Ward No. 4 and his wife Gurmeet Kaur from Ward No. 3.
AAP faces tough competition from Majithia in Majitha, wins 6 seats
Out of the 13 wards of the Majitha Municipal Council, the Aam Aadmi Party won seven seats and the Shiromani Akali Dal won six, while no other party managed to open its account. Ganib Kaur, wife of senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, is the MLA from here. The couple was very active in the election.
CM says, “No one is happy with the BJP chief.”
The CM said, “The ED has been in Punjab for a long time. They work against us every day. That’s why I’m calling them (BJP) the ED party. They will now work with the ED. Who is happy with the chief appointed? Internally, no one is happy. Manpreet Badal, Ravneet Bittu, Fateh Singh Bajwa, and Captain Amarinder Singh have all responded in the same way. “The chief appointed is a leader that used to cause conflict within the Congress, and now it will be here too. Now you’ll get good news.”

AAP wins majority in Barnala, wins 36 seats
Out of the 50 wards of the Barnala Municipal Corporation, the Aam Aadmi Party won 36 seats. The BJP won 7 seats, the Congress 2 seats, and 5 independent candidates won.
Majithia accused AAP of bullying
The counting agent in Majitha Municipal Council elections openly criticized the efforts being made by Aam Aadmi Party.

Former Health Minister Balbir Singh’s son loses election
Kunwardeep Singh, son of senior Congress leader and former Health Minister Balbir Singh, faced defeat in the Mohali Municipal Corporation elections. Kunwardeep, who contested from Ward No. 10, was defeated by independent candidate Paramjit Singh Kahlon by 131 votes.
Allegations of an attempt to run over the candidate’s wife with a car
The atmosphere became tense after the counting of votes for the Mandi Municipal Council elections. The winning Shiromani Akali Dal candidate, Gurmeet Singh, was accused of trying to run over the wife of independent candidate Najam Hussain with his car. The incident sparked anger, and the mob vandalized the accused’s car. Police arrived at the scene as soon as they received information.
Najam Hussain blamed Gurmeet Arora for the entire incident. He said that he had accepted his victory, but despite this, his supporters arrived in a car with a hooter. It is alleged that during this time an attempt was made to run over his wife with the car.

BJP Wins 9 Out of 11 Wards in Nayagaon Council Elections
In the Nayagaon Municipal Council elections, the BJP secured 9 out of the 11 seats; one seat was won by an Independent candidate, and one by the Aam Aadmi Party.

Results of Ropar
The results of the elections of Ropar and Morinda Nagar Kosal and Chamkor Sahib Nagar Panchayats in Ropar district were surprising. In the 21-ward Municipal Council Ropar, 17 Congress candidates had won in the previous elections, whereas this time only one candidate of the Congress party could win.
Apart from this, one independent candidate registered victory, while 4 BJP and 3 Akali Dal candidates won and by winning 12 seats, the Aam Aadmi Party is seen proving its majority in the Municipal Council Ropar.
Out of 13 wards of Chamkaur Sahib Nagar Panchayat, Congress candidates were victorious in 11 wards, while only 2 Aam Aadmi Party candidates were able to win here.
The counting of votes has been ongoing since 8 AM for the elections of 8 municipal corporations, 75 municipal councils, and 20 municipal panchayats. In Samana Municipal Council, counting started 35 minutes late.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won 158 seats. Meanwhile, independent candidates are in second place, having won 54 seats. Voting for the municipal elections took place on May 26.
Out of 33 wards in Malerkotla, results have come for 4 wards. In these, Congress won 3 wards and AAP won 1.
Out of 15 wards in Kartarpur Municipal Council, results for 13 have been declared. Among them, 9 candidates from AAP, 2 from Congress, and 2 independent candidates have won.
In Goniana Municipal Council’s 23 wards, three independent candidates and one AAP candidate have won. Meanwhile, one independent candidate was elected unopposed.
In Barnala, AAP has won in three seats.
Out of the 19 wards in Giddarbaha Municipal Council, Aam Aadmi Party has won in 7 wards.
From Ward number 10 of Samrala, Ramjit Singh of Shiromani Akali Dal won.
From Ward number 3 of Samrala, Rajendra Kaur from AAP; from Ward number 8, Deepak Kumar from BJP; and from Ward number 5, Jaspreet Kaur from AAP won.
From Ward number 19 of Derabassi Municipal Council, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Harjit Kaur has won.
In Kapurthala Municipal Corporation, Congress candidates won in wards numbers 1, 6, 7, and 11.
From Ward number 1 of Kapurthala Municipal Corporation, Deepak Salwan of Congress won.
Chandigarh: Counting of votes for Punjab civic body elections began on Thursday across 103 urban local bodies, including municipal corporations, councils, and nagar panchayats, under tight security arrangements.
