    CM Mann discharged from Fortis hospital after week-long treatment

    Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was discharged from Fortis Hospital, near here, on Thursday after nearly a week of hospitalisation. He was admitted to hospital on September 5 after complaining of exhaustion and low heart rate.

    After discharge, Chief Minister Mann left for his Sector 2 residence in Chandigarh under tight security. His health showed improvement with blood parameters gradually improving, doctors said. He was hospitalised in the evening after suffering from exhaustion, low heart rate and a high-grade fever for the past two days.

    A day earlier, Chief Minister Mann thanked noted Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh and renowned industrialist Pritpal Singh for helping flood-affected people of the state.

    The Chief Minister, who also held a virtual Cabinet meeting from the hospital, said people are coming up in large number of generously contribute in the CM Relief Fund to help the people in the floods. Thanking the people who were coming forward to help the distressed people in this hour of crisis, he said that it is the need of the hour to ensure that the needy people get timely help.

    Mann said that every penny of people’s contribution will give a major relief to the people of the marooned areas in the state. He said that such contributions will go a long way in providing timely and much needed support to people combating the natural fury. Mann said the generosity shown by the philanthropists will certainly provide a healing touch to the flood-ravaged areas of the state.

    Health deteriorated after the tour

    CM Bhagwant Mann was earlier continuously visiting the flood affected areas of Punjab. But when he reached Ferozepur, he visited many areas during this time. He also reached those villages by boat. From where, as soon as he reached Chandigarh, his health deteriorated on September 3.

    After this, he was treated at the CM residence in Chandigarh. But on the night of 5 September, he was shifted to the hospital. After which he was undergoing treatment in the hospital for 7 days.

    Talked to a boat builder during the flood

    CM Bhagwant Mann was admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated. But after he recovered a little, he was doing his office work regularly. He was gathering all the information about the flood affected areas by meeting officials. On September 8, he attended the cabinet meeting through online video conferencing. After this, he released a video of the decisions of the cabinet meeting. He also said that I will come among the public soon.

    On September 10, CM Bhagwant had a video call with Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh and Hanspal Traders owner Preetpal Singh Hanspal, who helped the flood victims. They helped people by preparing more than 150 boats to safely evacuate people and their animals trapped in the flood. The Chief Minister thanked them on behalf of the Punjab government for their commendable work.

    Many leaders including the mother reached the hospital

    Ever since CM Bhagwant Mann has been admitted to the hospital, many people have come to meet him. Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal met him at his home on 4 September. He was admitted to the hospital on 5 September. After this, on 6 September, many leaders including party in-charge Manish Sisodia, minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Aman Arora met him.

    His mother was the first to visit him on this day. On September 8, the CM held a cabinet meeting from the hospital. Haryana CM Nayab Saini also met him on the same day. Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria came to meet him on September 10. Chief Secretary KIP Sinha and DGP Gaurav Yadav met him along with him.
