Punjab to experience chilly winter this year; temperature hovers below normal

Temperatures in Punjab continue to drop slightly. The temperature dropped by 0.7 degrees in 24 hours, but it is still 1.9 degrees below normal. The Meteorological Department has predicted a chilly winter this year. It will be extremely cold, and fog may also affect North India.

Meanwhile, Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of 34.2 degrees in the state in the last 24 hours. Today, temperatures in most cities exceeded 30 degrees. Amritsar recorded 30.9 degrees, Ludhiana 31.1 degrees, Patiala 32.6 degrees, Pathankot 30.9 degrees, Bathinda 34.2 degrees, Gurdaspur 30.5 degrees, SBS Nagar 29.6 degrees, and Fazilka 32.2 degrees.

There is no possibility of rain in Punjab during the coming week. Maximum temperatures are expected to be 28-30°C in northern and eastern districts and 30-32°C in the rest of the state, which will be below normal or significantly below normal. Minimum temperatures are expected to be 12-14°C in Pathankot, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Rupnagar, and 14-16°C in other districts, which will be normal or below normal.

From October 17 to 23, maximum temperatures are expected to be 32-34°C in the southwestern regions, 30-32°C in the central and southeastern districts, and 28-30°C in the northeastern parts. Minimum temperatures will also be normal or below normal. Dry weather is expected across the state, with temperatures dropping.
