Punjab Govt Cracks Down on Fake School in Ludhiana, 27 Student’s Roll Numbers Cancelled

Ludhiana: In a major action to maintain transparency in the education system, the Punjab government has initiated strict measures against a fake school operating in Ludhiana.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has taken action against Dashmesh Public Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, after a physical inspection revealed serious irregularities.

Officials found that the school building was rented, regular classes were not being conducted, and there were no facilities for practical examinations despite registering Class 12 students.

27 Students’ Roll Numbers Cancelled

During verification, authorities discovered that the roll numbers of 27 students of Class 12th were missing. Following the investigation, PSEB cancelled all 27 roll numbers and began the process of revoking the school’s recognition.

Officials confirmed that a criminal complaint is also being filed against the institution for allegedly submitting fraudulent documents.

Government Vows Zero Tolerance

The Education Minister stated that the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will not tolerate any fraud that compromises students’ futures.

He added that investigations are currently underway in four more schools over similar suspicious activities. The probe teams have been directed to submit their reports at the earliest.

Relief for Affected Students

The government has assured that affected students will be adjusted in other recognised schools and provided necessary academic guidance to prevent disruption in their studies.

Authorities reiterated that strict monitoring will continue to ensure accountability and integrity within Punjab’s education system.
