Four involved in cross-border arms smuggling, pistols recovered

Amritsar Police arrested four persons who were involved in cross-border smuggling of arms. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

Police said, In a swift intelligence-led operation, Amritsar Commissionerate Police apprehended 4 persons involved in cross-border arms smuggling. Police also recovered 7 Pistols (including PX5 9mm, Glock 9mm & .30 Bore)

The arrested accused were in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers and received illegal weapon consignments near the Indo-Pak border. Operating from border villages, the network supplied arms to gangsters in Punjab.

As per police, an FIR under the Arms Act is registered at PS Chheharta, Amritsar. Further investigation is underway to uncover the entire network and its linkages by the Police.

DGP Yadav assured that Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling cross-border arms syndicates and ensuring peace in the state.
