Punjab Government Cabinet Meeting Today; several major decisions to be taken

The Punjab government is holding a cabinet meeting today. The meeting is scheduled for 12:00 PM at the Chief Minister’s residence. Several major decisions are expected to be taken during this session. It is anticipated that the meeting might approve the disbursement of funds to women under the ‘Maavan-Dhiyan’ scheme, scheduled for July.

Additionally, decisions regarding the recruitment of youth and other significant issues could also be made. However, no official agenda has been released regarding this so far.

Establishing Direct Communication with the Public

The government has now entered ‘election mode.’ The Chief Minister makes an effort to hold rallies in various constituencies almost daily and establish direct communication with the public. He is gathering feedback from the people and making decisions after discussing their suggestions with his cabinet. Several major decisions have been taken recently, all aimed at strengthening the government’s direct connection with the public.

Major Decisions Taken Previously

Earlier, on May 31, the state government decided to extend benefits equivalent to those of regular employees to over 65,000 outsourced and contractual staff. Similarly, on June 10, free bus travel was approved for NEET-UG aspirants and one accompanying parent. The direct recruitment of 1,013 lecturers and 156 Junior Engineers (JEs) was also greenlit to boost education and infrastructure.
