Despite strong opposition from Punjab, BBMB has cleared the way for the deployment of CISF at Bhakra Dam. BBMB has deposited Rs 8.5 crore with the Union Home Ministry for deployment of the Central Industrial Security Force.

Punjab Govt opposes CISF deployment 

Let us tell you that when the board meeting was held in July, the Punjab government strongly opposed the deployment of CISF in this meeting. After this, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha also passed a resolution against the deployment of CISF in BBMB.

BBMB deposited amount with Union Home Ministry

Sources said that the BBMB management deposited the money with the Union Home Ministry on July 25, 21 days after the full board meeting. After this, the Punjab member of the board informed the BBMB management in writing that the Punjab government will not give anything to the organization for the deployment of CISF.

It is worth mentioning that the Punjab government had given its consent in a full board meeting in 2021 for the deployment of CISF in BBMB. About two months ago, the Union Home Ministry had written to BBMB to deposit Rs 8.5 crore for the deployment of CISF.
