DIG Navin Singla launches massive domination exercise in Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur: DIG Jalandhar Range, Navin Singla, visited Hoshiarpur on Tuesday and confirmed that a large-scale Domination Exercise was being carried out across the city to enhance law enforcement visibility and public safety.

As part of the exercise, 25 patrolling parties were deployed at seven strategic locations, including the bus stand, railway station, marketplaces, and key city intersections.

Alongside DIG Singla, SSP Hoshiarpur Sandeep Malik and Deputy Additional Police personnel led the operation. Approximately 800 police officials have been deployed, including nearly 50 SHOs and 25 GOs (gazetted officers), to monitor and check the entire area.

The DIG mentioned that specific operations targeting suspicious individuals (suspects) will also be carried out in the coming days. “Our aim is to ensure complete safety and security in the region,” he stated.

When questioned about the tragic bus accident that occurred recently between Hoshiarpur and Hajipur, which resulted in 10 fatalities, DIG Singla revealed that the preliminary investigation found the bus driver at fault. The 32-seater bus was overloaded with passengers, leading to the overturning of the vehicle.

“The responsibility lies with the bus operators,” he said, adding that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted, and special checks will be initiated on buses to prevent such incidents in the future.
