Jalandhar: Deras have the major role in the Punjab politics. Sects have had an influence in Punjab politics since the beginning. Whenever elections come, leaders start visiting the deras (Sects). Today Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha reached Sachkhand Ballan in Jalandhar and took blessings from Sant Shri Niranjan Das Maharaj.

The Ravidas community has a strong hold in Jalandhar, so Dera Ballan can prove to be a big game changer in itself. but the ground reality is that the Dera Sachkhand Ballan never supports any political party whether Congress, the ruling party AAP, or other.
