Chandigarh: The Punjab Police on Friday arrested Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) woman leader Kanchanpreet Kaur in connection with FIR No. 208/25 registered at Chabal. The arrest has been made under the sections invoked in the said case.

Kanchanpreet Kaur, daughter of Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa—who is the Shiromani Akali Dal candidate in the Tarn Taran byelection—appeared before the Majitha police station earlier in the day, following which her arrest was formally recorded.

Police officials stated that during the election period, as many as four FIRs were lodged against Kanchanpreet Kaur at different police stations.

A copy of the FIR related to the case has also been shared by the authorities.
