Punjab Police bust cross-border arms smuggling module in Fazilka

Fazilka: Police in Fazilka district of Punjab busted an internationally active arms smuggling module and arrested two accused associated with the gang. It has been revealed that this gang has links with Pakistan. Information about this case has been shared by Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said- The arrested accused had the support of handlers sitting abroad. On their information, the police have recovered 18 pistols, 1847 live cartridges and 42 magazines. Punjab Police is continuously taking strict action against cross-border crime and organized smuggling network.

DGP said- weapons were to be used in illegal activities

DGP Gaurav Yadav said- Initial investigation has revealed that this module was supplying weapons in Punjab in collaboration with gangsters and smugglers active across the border. These weapons were to be used in criminal activities and gangsterism. Both the arrested accused are being interrogated to gather complete information about their foreign handlers and the network spread in Punjab.

The police is now conducting a special operation to trace the forward and backward links of this smuggling network, identify all the associates and eliminate the entire gang. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that other arrests may also be made in the case soon.
