Jalandhar, Punjab: In a breakthrough against organized crime and a network of foreign gangsters in Punjab, SSOC Amritsar and Counter Intelligence Jalandhar, in collaboration with a central agency, have busted a gang operating at the behest of handlers based abroad. Three accused were arrested in the operation, and three foreign-made sophisticated pistols and ammunition were recovered from them.

Gangster connections linked to foreign countries revealed

Police have registered an FIR in this case at the SSOC police station in Amritsar. Initial investigations have revealed that the arrested accused were acting on the instructions of gangsters based abroad who are involved in gang warfare, extortion, and other criminal activities in Punjab. These accused were transporting weapons consignments from one location to another and committing various criminal acts.

Links were also found with old murder cases

The investigation also revealed that the arrested accused were linked to a murder case registered in the Amritsar Commissionerate and another case of attempted murder registered in Batala. This makes it clear that this network was not limited to arms smuggling but was also involved in serious violent crimes.

Police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the entire network to identify accomplices, local contacts, and foreign handlers, as well as investigating the gang’s past criminal activities.
