In a major breakthrough, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police apprehended four members of a gang linked to foreign-based handlers. The Gang is involved in carrying out extortion and firing incidents. The Police team busted the module and recovered 3 sophisticated pistols and live cartridges.

The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were acting on the directions of foreign-based handlers and were involved in the planning and execution of multiple firing incidents in Jalandhar and SBSNagar districts.

FIR has been registered at PS Bhargo Camp, Jalandhar Commissionerate. Further investigation is underway by the police teams to establish backward and forward linkages of the network and identify other associates involved.

DGP Yadav further said that the Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling organised criminal networks and ensuring peace, safety, and security across Punjab.
