    Punjab Police busts gangster module in Amritsar, Three operatives arrested

    Amritsar: In a major breakthrough, the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, in collaboration with the Pathankot Counter Intelligence Team, busted a gangster module. Three accused were arrested and two 30 bore Star-Mark pistols and 15 live cartridges were recovered from their possession. The operation shows the strong grip of the Punjab Police on organised crime and gangster activities in the state.

    Weapons recovered and gangster module busted
    Investigation has revealed that the weapons recovered from the arrested accused had international links. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were working under the directions of Armenia-based gangster Raja Haruwal, who was supplying arms to Punjab. The gang was involved in money laundering and extortion activities at various locations.

    Accused with organized criminal record
    The arrested accused have several serious criminal cases registered against them in Batala, Gurdaspur and Amritsar, including crimes like kidnapping, attempt to murder and illegal possession of arms. These arrests are a significant step towards neutralizing a dangerous network in the area.

    Investigation is underway and the network is being probed
    An FIR has been registered at SSOC Amritsar, and the entire gangster network is being probed. The police are trying to dismantle the entire network by tracing all the links of the accused.
