Punjab Police Busts Two Illegal Arms Supply Networks in Amritsar, 4 Accused Held; 16 Pistols Recovered

Amritsar: Punjab Police has achieved a major success. The Amritsar Commissionerate Police have busted two illegal arms supply networks and arrested four accused, including two minors. Police recovered 16 sophisticated pistols and 7 live cartridges from the accused.

The DGP of Punjab Police shared this information on the social media platform X. He stated that this police action has exposed an illegal arms supply network active in Amritsar.

Accused in contact with a handler based abroad

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were allegedly in contact with a handler based abroad. This handler facilitated the delivery of illegal arms consignments. These weapons were then distributed to criminal elements through an organized network.

Police are now investigating the entire network to identify others involved in the arms supply and to understand how the network operates.

FIRs registered at two police stations, investigation ongoing

Separate FIRs have been registered in this case at Police Station Cantonment and Police Station Gate Hakima in Amritsar.

The police’s further investigation aims to expose the entire illegal arms network and identify where the weapons were sourced from and who they were intended to deliver.

The Punjab Police reiterated that eliminating the illegal arms network in the state and making Punjab safe is its priority.
