The initiative was highlighted in a statement by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, who described the drone operations as more than a technological feat, calling them a “promise that no one will be left behind”.
“In the face of adversity, innovation becomes our lifeline,” the DGP said in a social media post.
“These drone missions epitomize purpose-driven policing on the ground and in the sky.”
The operation is being carried out with precision by trained officers and drone operators who are navigating difficult weather conditions to reach villages isolated from the floods. Packages containing dry rations, medicines, water and baby supplies are being dropped with precision into the affected homes.
This initiative marks a massive effort by the Punjab Police to use technology for humanitarian assistance, especially during natural disasters. The officers involved have been praised for their dedication, compassion and quick response, ensuring that crucial relief reaches even the remotest areas of Amritsar district.
