Punjab Police Busts Trans-Border Drug Trafficking Racket, Seizes 8.25 Kg Heroin

Ferozepur: In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Punjab Police has busted an international drug trafficking racket. In this operation, the police recovered 8,250 kg of heroin and arrested the main accused who was running the drug supply chain.

The DGP of Punjab Police informed in a tweet that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was linked to Pakistan-based handlers and was managing the supply and distribution of the entire drug trafficking chain.

In an intelligence-led operation, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (#ANTF), Ferozepur Range busts a trans-border drug trafficking module, recovering 8.250 Kg of heroin and arresting the key operative managing the supply chain.

The police have registered an FIR under the NDPS Act and the investigation is on.

The priority of the police now is to nab all the cross-border handlers involved in this racket, identify the supply routes and completely dismantle the trafficking network.

“Punjab Police will further intensify its campaign against drugs and is fully committed to dismantle the cross-border drug trafficking network operating in the state,” the DGP Punjab Police said in a tweet.

Under which the police is taking strict action against drug trafficking and its networks in the state.

Warning: The police have also warned that the citizens of Punjab have been encouraged to report any suspicious activity to make the campaign against drug trafficking more effective.
