Chandigarh: Security agencies in Punjab on Monday achieved a major breakthrough, arresting four operatives of foreign gangster Goldy Dhillon (Lawrence Bishnoi gang) after an encounter. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and SAS Nagar police near Steel Strips Towers on the Derabassi-Ambala highway.

Four accused arrested, two injured after the encounter
According to sources, the accused were hiding in a house located along the highway. Acting on intelligence, the police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. The accused suddenly opened fire.
In the police retaliatory action, two gangsters were shot dead, while four others were arrested on the spot.
Contact with a foreign handler
Initial investigation has revealed that the gang was working under the direct instructions of its foreign handler and was plotting attacks targeting the Tricity and Patiala areas.
Weapons cache recovered
The police recovered a large quantity of weapons from the accused:
7 pistols (.32 caliber)
70 live cartridges
