Punjab Police Seize 25kg Heroin bust cross-border smuggling network in Amritsar

In a major breakthrough, Counter Intelligence, Amritsar busted a narcotics smuggling network. Police also arrested three accused, and recovers 25 Kg of Heroin. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has shared the information through a post on X.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were operating on the directions of a cross-border smuggler. They were involved in collecting heroin consignments from different locations for further delivery across Punjab.

An FIR has been registered at Police Station State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar, under the NDPS Act.

Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages, identify all associates involved, and uncover the entire supply chain.

DGP Yadav also added that Punjab Police remains steadfast in its commitment to dismantling cross-border drug trafficking networks and making Punjab a safe and drug-free state.
