    Pay Property Tax by Sept 30 to Get 10% Rebate, Offices Open on Holidays

    Amritsar: The Punjab government has set September 30th as the deadline for paying property taxes for the financial year 2025-26. People will receive a 10% rebate if they pay by this date. On orders from Amritsar Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill, taxes can be paid online even on holidays from September 22nd to 30th, but offices will be closed today, Sunday.

    Despite Saturday being a holiday, the CFC offices of the Property Tax Department and the Municipal Corporation remained open. The department collected approximately ₹5.6 million in property taxes on Saturday. Total collections since April 1st of this fiscal year have reached ₹21.77 crore.

    A large number of tax payers are online through the portal mseva.lgpunjab.gov.in Offices will be closed today for a holiday, but online services can be availed.

    Offices will remain open even on holidays

    • On the orders of the Municipal Commissioner, the Property Tax Department and CFC offices will remain open continuously from 22nd to 30th September (except Sunday, 21st September) despite the holiday.
    • These offices will remain open even on Monday, a government holiday, and people will be able to pay taxes.
    • Its purpose is to enable people to pay taxes on time and avail the benefit of rebate.

    Relief for defaulting parties

    The Punjab government is offering a discount to property tax defaulters. Previously, the Punjab government waived any penalties or interest on property tax defaulters who paid their property tax by August 31st.

    According to the orders issued now, those parties who have not paid property tax from the year 2013 to 31 March 2025, have been given 50% discount on the penalty and interest till 31 October.
