Punjab Govt launches Rs 2400 Cr Road Infra Project; CM Mann lays foundation in Dhuri

Chandigarh, August 10: The Punjab government has launched a major project worth Rs 2400 crore to strengthen the road infrastructure of the state. Under this scheme, link roads will be improved across the state.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will lay the foundation stone of two road projects at village Dhadhgal in his assembly constituency Dhuri today, which will cost Rs 17.21 crore. Before the program, he will pay tribute to Shaheed Sardar Bhagat Singh Ji Dhadhgal.

The government’s focus is on basic amenities

Punjab Assembly elections are due in the year 2027. In such a situation, the government has already started working on roads, cleanliness, street lights and providing basic facilities to the people, so that people do not have to face any kind of problem. The government had got all the roads measured through drones. Now, work has started in this direction. Earlier, the national convener of the party had announced in a program that the government’s focus would be on roads.

Joint committee to stop corruption

The government is very active in stopping corruption. The CM said that earlier the work used to start from the top, like we would get the tender only when our share was fixed. When the road was being built, officers used to come, due to which the quality of the roads had to be compromised. He said that it is easy to blame the police and road contractors. Now no officer or leader will ask for bribe from the contractors.

For this, a coordination committee will be formed, which will include members from both parties. He said that earlier there used to be only one or two cars, but now every house has a car. Money will be given for the maintenance of roads, but efforts will be made to ensure that there is no need for repairs.
