Punjab SC Commission Orders Arrest of Congress Chief Raja Warring Over Remarks Against Buta Singh

Chandigarh: Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has landed in fresh trouble after Punjab SC Commission Chairman Jasbir Singh Garhi ordered his arrest for allegedly making derogatory remarks against former Union Minister Buta Singh.

According to sources, DSP Kapurthala Hargurdev Singh was summoned to Chandigarh on Wednesday to explain why Warring had not yet been arrested. The DSP informed the Commission that a forensic examination of the video containing Warring’s remarks was underway and would take about a week to 10 days to complete.

The Commission was also informed that the late Buta Singh’s son had submitted his father’s Scheduled Caste certificate as part of the complaint. Following this, Chairman Garhi directed that Raja Warring be arrested within eight days.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the police’s explanation, Garhi remarked, “Raja Warring is not some Robin Hood you can’t find. He is moving freely around Tarn Taran and Nawanshahr — why can’t you locate him? This is like a rabbit in an open field while a hunter holds his dogs by the chain.”

The order has triggered political ripples in Punjab, with the state Congress yet to respond officially to the development.
