Punjab School Timings Changed From November 2: All Schools to Open at 9 AM, Close at 3 PM

Punjab: The Punjab Education Department has decided to change school timings across the state from November 2 in view of the winter season. The revised schedule will apply to all government, private, aided and recognised schools in Punjab.

Under the new schedule, schools will start at 9 am. Primary schools will remain open until 3 pm, while schools from middle to senior secondary levels will operate until 3:20 pm.

The revised timings will remain in effect until February 28. The orders will apply to more than 19,000 schools across the state.

School Timings Change Three Times During Academic Session

School timings in Punjab are revised three times during the academic session according to seasonal conditions.

From April 1 to September 30, schools operate from 8 am to 2 pm.

Between October 1 and October 31, primary schools function from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Meanwhile, middle, high and senior secondary schools operate from 8:30 am to 2:50 pm.

Winter Timings to Remain in Effect Until February 28

Under the winter schedule, which will be implemented from November 1 as per the seasonal timetable, primary schools will run from 9 am to 3 pm, while middle to senior secondary schools will operate from 9 am to 3:20 pm.

The revised schedule will continue until February 28, after which school timings will be changed again from March 1.

The change is intended to adjust school hours to seasonal conditions during the winter months. The revised timings cover government, private, aided and recognised schools across Punjab.
