Punjab Desk: This year, in addition to the 4,800 machines already available in the district, approximately 320 modern agricultural machines have been made available to farmers on subsidies.

Giving a major gift to the people of the historic city of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann laid the foundation stone for sewerage and water supply projects worth Rs 138.82 crore in the city.

Addressing a public gathering at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, the Chief Minister said that of these projects worth Rs 138.82 crore, Rs 90.68 crore will be spent on the new sewerage system and Rs 48.14 crore on water supply projects. He said that the city has 31,000 households and the completion of these projects will benefit 158,000 people.

He said that now people will no longer have to struggle with clean drinking water and sewerage problems. New sewerage and water supply projects are being launched in the historic city after 30 years, but it is sad to say that in the past, this district has produced Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers, but this city has been severely neglected.

I consider myself fortunate that God has given me the opportunity to launch major projects in this historic city.” Referring to the current state of the city’s sewerage and water supply, the Chief Minister said that the city’s sewerage system has reached its expiration date and there is a significant problem of sewer blockages. Many new settlements are deprived of sewerage facilities.

The new projects will address the sewerage and water supply problems in the area around Sri Darbar Sahib and other locations. He said that two high-rise water tanks will be constructed at the Kotkapura Road Main Waterworks and the Abohar Road Waterworks. He said that under this project, a provision of Rs 17 crore has been made for the reconstruction of main roads of various departments and the Municipal Council streets dug up during these development works. He ordered officials to complete both projects on time.

The Punjab government is having to launch campaigns like the War on Drugs to eradicate the stigma of drug addiction from the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Previous governments failed to crack down on drug traffickers, resulting in the deaths of thousands of youth. Now we are fighting a war against drugs.” smugglers, while traditional parties were protecting them.”

The Aam Aadmi Party government has taken major public-friendly decisions during its three and a half years in office. He said that for the first time, canal water has reached the tail end, solving the problem of water for irrigation. He said that in various districts of Punjab, especially in these areas, closed canals and ditches have been reopened, and water has reached many places after 37 years.

He said that farmers are being provided electricity during the day for their fields. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that 90 percent of households are receiving free electricity, which has reduced the financial burden on the common people.

The Chief Minister further said that 56,856 youth have been given government jobs without any recommendation or bribe. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the closure of 19 toll plazas in the state is saving the people of Punjab ₹6.4 million daily, which is a major economic relief. The Chief Minister said that 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened to provide quality healthcare to the people, where treatment and medicines are available free of cost.
