Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau filed a chargesheet spanning around 40,000 pages against Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a drug-related case, according to claims made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The AAP alleged that ₹736 crore linked to drug money was deposited into bank accounts of companies associated with Majithia. These allegations were reportedly highlighted in the Punjab Vigilance Bureau’s chargesheet.
AAP Alleges Links With International Drug Smugglers
The AAP also accused Majithia of having links with international drug smugglers. However, these allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings, and the chargesheet’s findings will need to be assessed through the legal process.
AAP Targets Amit Shah Over Drug Allegations
In a political attack, the AAP alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah wanted to sell drugs in Punjab with Majithia’s help, claiming that the drugs would be brought from Gujarat.
The allegation against Shah has not been independently established.
The development comes amid the ongoing political debate in Punjab over drug trafficking and the action being taken against those accused of involvement in the drug trade.
