Punjab Weather: Dense fog and chilling cold alert; Faridkot remains coldest

The weather in Punjab and Chandigarh is constantly changing. The cold has increased continuously for the last two-three days. Due to cold winds, bone-chilling cold is being faced. Cold winds are blowing in the morning and night and traffic will be affected due to fog. However, there will be some relief during the day due to sunshine. The cold will increase further in Punjab in the coming days.

Significant difference between day and night temperatures
Currently, there is a significant difference between day and night temperatures. The maximum temperature in Bathinda is 25 degrees and the minimum temperature is 5.2 degrees. This difference is expected to decrease further in the coming days.

Faridkot is the coldest, Bathinda is the hottest
According to the Meteorological Department, Faridkot is the coldest area at present, the minimum temperature is 5.2 degrees, while Bathinda is the hottest with a temperature of 25.1 degrees.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in some areas of 13 districts of Punjab on Saturday and Sunday. These include Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, Mohali, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. However, the weather will remain dry in Punjab for the next six days

There was no change in the minimum temperature in Punjab today.

The minimum temperature in Ludhiana and Patiala was below normal. The minimum temperature in Amritsar was 5.9 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 6.4 degrees Celsius (0.5 degrees below normal), Patiala 6.9 degrees Celsius (1.3 degrees below normal), Hoshiarpur 6.2 degrees Celsius, Pathankot 6.6 degrees Celsius, Bathinda 6.0 degrees Celsius and Gurdaspur 7.2 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature of Amritsar was recorded at 21.5 degrees, Ferozepur 21.8 degrees, Ludhiana 22.2 degrees, Patiala 23.7 degrees, Pathankot 24.9 degrees and Hoshiarpur 20.6 degrees.
