Rain in 7 districts of Punjab today: Farmers worried after water level rises in Sutlej

The weather in Punjab has once again changed. Rain is expected in many parts of the state today, Friday. The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy to moderate rain may occur in many areas on September 19th. The rain will bring down temperatures and provide relief from the humidity and heat.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected at some places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar (Mohali), and Patiala. Other districts in Punjab will experience cloudy skies and light drizzle.

Sutlej River Water Level Rises Again, Threat to Many Areas

Due to the rain, the water level of the Sutlej River has risen. The threat to the Dhussi bandhin the Mandala Chhanna area has increased. The strong flow of water has breached the dam’s retaining walls, causing four houses near the dam to collapse.

The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon will completely withdraw from Punjab by September 20th. As it departs, it will pass through the central parts of the state, causing moderate to heavy rainfall in some districts today and tomorrow. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert regarding this.

Temperatures will drop, providing relief from humidity

Temperatures will drop, with a maximum of 38.4 degrees Celsius recorded in Mansa, while the lowest temperature was 30.2 degrees Celsius in Mohali. The Meteorological Department stated that the rain will bring a slight drop in temperatures and provide relief from the humid heat. However, no warnings have been issued for heavy rain or storms during this period.
