Punjab Weather Update: Average temp 5 degrees below than normal; No rain for week

After the western disturbance ended, temperatures in Punjab saw a 5.3-degree rise. However, the maximum temperature remained 5.1 degrees below normal. This change in weather is due to recent rains and snowfall in the mountains. While September is usually relatively rainy, the state has seen more rainfall than normal.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the month of October normally sees only 2.7 mm of rain. However, in the past few days, the state has seen an average of 29.4 mm of rain, which is 988 percent more than normal. Meanwhile, Pathankot has seen 0.9 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.

According to experts, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh in the coming days. Consequently, temperatures in Punjab will not see much change, and temperatures may remain slightly below normal.

Temperatures in most cities were below 30 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Center, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 31.8 degrees Celsius in Mohali. Faridkot recorded 31.2 degrees Celsius, and Pathankot 30.3 degrees Celsius. All other cities recorded temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius.
