Punjab Weather Update: Cold winds to prevail; rain likely on 17th

The weather is about to change again in Punjab and Chandigarh. Temperatures have been rising rapidly over the past few days due to bright sunshine, but now their pace will slow down. Cold winds are expected from the mountains, which could cause a slight drop in daytime temperatures.

There is a possibility of rain on February 17th. The maximum temperature has increased by 0.6 degrees in the last 24 hours. Despite this, the temperature is still 3.8 degrees above normal. During this period, the maximum temperature in Ferozepur was recorded at 26.6 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, one Western Disturbance has reached the mountains, while another will become active on February 16th. Consequently, rain activities may begin by February 17th. However, this rain is likely to occur only in a few locations, not across the entire state.

The weather will clear up again after February 17th. Partly cloudy skies are possible on the Amritsar-Ambala and Ambala-Delhi highways on February 14th and 15th. No fog alert has been issued at this time.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain like this from February 14th to 19th. Heavy rain is not expected. Maximum temperatures are expected to be between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius in the northern and eastern parts of the state, and between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius in the remaining areas.
