Punjab Weather Update: Dry Weather Continues, Temperature Above Normal

Chandigarh: Punjab and Chandigarh are seeing dry weather these days. There has been no rain in the last 24 hours. Morning and night feel slightly cool, but strong sunshine in the afternoon is making the weather feel like summer. Many people have started using fans at home.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature is around 4.3°C above normal in the state.

Gurdaspur Hottest in the State

Gurdaspur recorded the highest maximum temperature at 30.4°C. The minimum temperature was 9.0°C, which is also higher than normal.

Strong winds are also blowing in many areas. Mohali earlier recorded wind speed of 39 km per hour. The weather department said strong winds will continue during the daytime.

No Big Effect of Western Disturbance

The IMD said two Western Disturbances will affect the Himalayan region from March 4 and March 6. But there will be no big effect in Punjab plains.

There is no chance of rain or thunderstorm in Punjab and Chandigarh for the next one week.

Temperature to Rise More

In the next five days, maximum temperature may increase by 2 to 4°C slowly. After that, no big change is expected.

Winds may blow at 20 to 30 km per hour during the day. Due to dust in the air, people may face eye irritation or breathing problems. People are advised to be careful.
