Punjab-Chandigarh Experience Chilly Mornings, Fog Alert Issued as Temperatures Set to Rise

Chandigarh: Punjab and Chandigarh are now experiencing chilly mornings and evenings. The bright sunshine during the day has created a warmer-like atmosphere. Strong winds will blow today. Fog may persist in some areas. Both maximum and minimum temperatures will rise over the next five days, potentially by three to five degrees.

However, the weather will remain dry during this period. The maximum temperature has dropped by 0.6 degrees in the last 24 hours, which is 3.6 degrees above normal. The highest temperature was recorded in Bathinda at 28.6 degrees.

Visibility in Amritsar was recorded below 50 metres.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy fog enveloped Amritsar yesterday, with visibility dropping to 50 meters. This caused significant inconvenience to residents. However, a fog alert is still in effect in some districts. Meteorological Department officials say that drivers need to be cautious, as sudden fog increases the risk of road accidents.

Gurdaspur Sees Lowest Minimum Temperature

According to the Meteorological Department, two western disturbances will reach the mountains today. This will certainly change the weather in the mountains, although it will not have any impact on the weather in Punjab. Strong winds will blow during the day. Maximum temperatures have been recorded between 24.5 and 28.6 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius was recorded in Gurdaspur.

The temperature to rise gradually

Meteorological Department Director Surendra Pal said the weather is expected to remain dry in the state. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the
