Punjab Weather Update: Heavy rain alert for 4 days in Punjab; Temperature drop brings relief

Heavy rain warning issued in Punjab from today. Amritsar and Jalandhar got some relief from the heat after heavy rain this morning. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain for four days from today.

Due to this, the temperature may drop by five degrees. After this, light to moderate rain is likely at some places in Punjab on July 10, after which heavy rain is likely on July 11.

The weather in Punjab remained mainly dry on Sunday, but the mercury once again crossed 40 degrees. The temperature in Punjab increased by 0.9 degrees, which remained close to normal.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Punjab fell by 1.4 degrees, which is 1.8 degrees above normal. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in SBS Nagar at 23 degrees. The highest minimum temperature in Punjab was recorded in Bathinda at 40.3 degrees.

Amritsar recorded 35.9 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 36.4 degrees Celsius, Patiala 37.2 degrees Celsius, Pathankot 35.5 degrees Celsius, Gurdaspur 36.0 degrees Celsius, Fazilka 39.0 degrees Celsius, Ferozepur 35.9 degrees Celsius, Sangrur 35.8 degrees Celsius and Rupnagar 37.1 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at 29.2 degrees Celsius, in Ludhiana at 26.2 degrees Celsius, in Patiala at 26.7 degrees Celsius, in Pathankot at 23.9 degrees Celsius, in Bathinda at 30.8 degrees Celsius, in Faridkot at 30.6 degrees Celsius, in Fazilka at 29.2 degrees Celsius, in Ferozepur at 29.5 degrees Celsius and in Rupnagar at 27.0 degrees Celsius.
