Punjab Weather Update: Impact of Cyclone Montha in State, temperature drops

The impact of Cyclone Montha is also being felt in Punjab, although there is no possibility of rain in the state. The downward winds have provided some relief from pollution, and the temperature has decreased in some districts of the state. However, the wind conditions will change today, which will increase the temperature and pollution.

According to the Meteorological Department, the winds are blowing from the north to the northeast. In central Punjab, these winds are towards the north. Due to this, the conditions have become such that pollution levels have decreased and AQI has reached below 100 in Bathinda and Amritsar of the state, but the situation in central Punjab has reached an alarming level.

It is estimated that today the winds will blow towards the north in half of Punjab and towards the southwest in the other half, due to which the pollution situation is likely to worsen further.

Due to the cyclonic storm, the winds are blowing downward from Himachal. As a result, the maximum temperature of the state decreased by 0.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature decreased by 0.2 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was recorded in Fardikot at 32.2 degrees Celsius. But today, the situation is expected to change. The temperature may increase by 1 degree in most cities. This is also due to the change in wind direction.
