Punjab Weather: Temperatures Cross 33°C in Early March, No Rain Expected Till March 12

Chandigarh: The cold is almost over in Punjab and Chandigarh. Daytime temperatures are rising rapidly, making the weather feel like late March heat in the first week of March.

According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry throughout the coming week, with bright sunshine during the day. However, strong winds are expected in many areas on Friday as well.

The state’s maximum temperature has risen by 0.9 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours. It is now 7.1 degrees above normal. Sri Anandpur Sahib recorded a temperature of 33.6 degrees Celsius, the highest in the state. Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 33.1 degrees Celsius.

This week, the minimum temperature will cross 14 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no chance of rain from today until March 12. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the northern and eastern regions, and 30 to 32 degrees Celsius in the central, western, and southeastern regions.

Night temperatures are also expected to rise. They could hover between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius, which would be normal or above normal. The western disturbance will be limited to the Himalayan regions, so rainfall in the plains is unlikely.

Strong winds likely

According to Surendra Pal Singh, Director of the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature will rise by another 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next four days. There will be no significant change in temperatures after that. Strong winds are also expected in the state during the next 24 hours.
