Punjab Weather Update: Light to moderate rain predicted, Monsoon departure by Sept 20

Monsoon is now on its way back from Punjab and will return completely by 20 September. While leaving, it will pass through the central parts of Punjab, due to which it may rain at many places, and a change in the weather will be seen.

On 16 September, i.e., today, many areas of the state will remain cloudy, and drizzle is possible. On the other hand, light to moderate rain is expected in different parts on 17 and 18 September.

Especially Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, and Mohali may receive rain. Apart from this, light rain or drizzle may also occur in Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala.

Talking about the temperature, the maximum temperature in Ludhiana was 37.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature in Pathankot was 23.6 degrees Celsius.

Temperature will drop, relief from humidity

The Meteorological Department said that the rain will bring a slight drop in temperature, and people will get relief from the humid heat. However, no warning of heavy rain or storm has been issued during this time.

The department has advised the farmers to take care of the crops in view of the rain and make necessary arrangements in the fields in advance, so that there is no damage.

The water level of all the rivers is decreasing

The rain will bring coolness to the atmosphere, and the weather is expected to remain pleasant. At the same time, people will also get some relief in commuting, as people were troubled by the increased heat and humidity for the last few days.

At the same time, due to less rain in the mountains, the water level of the rivers in Punjab is continuously decreasing and the situation is gradually becoming normal. The cleanliness campaign run by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuing in every village.
