Rain alert in 4 districts of Punjab; Water level of rivers decreased as flood situation improves

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain may occur in some districts of Punjab, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and Mohali from Tuesday. People will get relief from the heat and humidity when it rains.

Bathinda was the hottest district in the state on Monday, where the temperature was recorded at 36.6 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature of Ludhiana was 25.2 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest in the entire state.

At present, the Meteorological Department has not issued any kind of warning, but farmers have been advised to do their agricultural work keeping in mind the weather and take care of standing crops in rainy areas.

The department has also predicted rain in many parts of Punjab on September 17 and 18.

Flood situation improves, cleaning work on war footing

Due to less rainfall in the mountains, the water level of rivers in Punjab is continuously decreasing, and the situation is gradually becoming normal. The damage is now being assessed in the flood-affected areas.

The flood situation in the state has improved since the last one week and the water level of all the rivers is receding. Meanwhile, the state government has intensified the cleaning operation in the affected areas.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that cleaning work is going on on a war footing in different parts of Punjab.
