Punjab weather update: Rain expected around Nov 5-6; nights warm despite drop in Temp

People in Punjab are expected to soon experience relief from rising pollution in the first week of November. The Meteorological Center has predicted rain in the state on November 5th and 6th. However, no alert has been issued in this regard yet.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance will become active from November 4th. Its impact will be felt most strongly in Jammu and Kashmir, while it will also affect Punjab on November 5th and 6th. During these two days, most parts of the state will remain cloudy, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected at many places.

Rainfall may improve air quality in Punjab. Pollution particles will settle to the ground, improving the Air Quality Index (AQI). Currently, all cities in the state are recording AQIs above 100. In Bathinda, the level has reached 205.

The temperature dropped, but nights remain hot

Maximum temperatures are steadily falling in the state. The mercury has dropped by about 1 degree in the past 24 hours. The highest temperature was recorded in Mansa at 32.3 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded in Gurdaspur at 16 degrees.

The minimum temperature also saw a rise of 1.1 degrees Celsius. It remains about 4 degrees above normal, which is a cause for concern, according to weather experts.
