Rain likely in Punjab amid Western Disturbance, Heavy showers expected in North-East districts

Amritsar, August 3: The weather department has not issued any alert regarding rain in Punjab today, but there is a possibility of rain due to the effect of Western Disturbance. A big change in the weather can be seen from tomorrow, i.e. Monday.

Some districts of the state received light rains yesterday, due to which the maximum temperature increased by about 1.8 degrees Celsius, although it is still 1.7 degrees below normal. The highest temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Bhakra Dam area of Rupnagar.

Amritsar recorded a temperature of 32.3°C, Ludhiana 32.2°C, Patiala 31.2°C and Bathinda 31.6°C. Talking about rainfall, Hoshiarpur received the highest rainfall of 41.5 mm, while Rupnagar received 13 mm, Moga 4 mm, Ludhiana 0.4 mm and Patiala 0.2 mm.

Weather warning and rain forecast till August 6

• Light to moderate rain is expected in many districts of the state for 4 days.

• Heavy rain warning has been issued in Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Rupnagar.

• There is an alert of heavy rain in some districts on 4th and 5th August also.

• Rainfall is likely at more than 25% places in most of the districts.

• More rain is expected in North and East Punjab, while south-western districts may remain dry.

Amritsar- There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 26 to 33 degrees.

Jalandhar- There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 26 to 29 degrees.

Ludhiana- There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 25 to 33 degrees.

Patiala- There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 26 to 31 degrees.

Mohali- There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 27 to 31 degrees.
