Rain pours in many districts of Punjab since morning; Flash alert issued in 8 districts

Monsoon rains will start again in Punjab from today. Last night, there was an alert regarding rain in Ludhiana, Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib. At the same time, it rained in Amritsar and Rupnagar. Due to this, a slight change was seen in the temperature, and the maximum temperature remains normal.

The Meteorological Department has issued a flash alert in Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Pathankot till 9.30 pm. At the same time, light rain is falling in Amritsar, Jalandhar and the surrounding areas since morning.

According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, and Fatehgarh Sahib of Punjab today, on Sunday.

Orange alert has been issued regarding rain here. There is a possibility of 12 mm or more rain in these areas. There is also a yellow alert for rain in other districts. There are chances of rain around 7 mm here.

There will be good rain tomorrow too

The orange alert is expected to continue in the state on Monday as well. During this time, there are chances of heavy rain in 10 districts, while moderate rain is also expected in other districts. On Tuesday, orange alert is issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Hoshiarpur, while yellow alert will continue in the surrounding districts.

The state has received good rain in the first five days of July. According to the data of the Meteorological Department, 49 mm of rain has been received so far in the month of July. Whereas normally 20.5 mm of rain occurs in these five days.

According to this, 139 percent more rain has been received in the month of July so far. At the same time, chances of rain have been expressed in the coming days as well.
