Punjab Weather Update: Clear Skies, Strong Winds as Temperature Rises Across State

Chandigarh: The weather in Punjab and Chandigarh will be clear and dry today (Thursday). The day will be sunny and with strong winds. The state’s average maximum temperature has increased by 1.7 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours. It is now 5.8 degrees above normal.

Ferozepur recorded the highest temperature of 33.1 degrees Celsius. The heat was clearly felt during the day. Bathinda and Ferozepur recorded the lowest temperature of 12.6 degrees Celsius, both above normal.

Strong winds recorded in three districts

According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds blew in Mohali, Patiala, and Faridkot on March 4th, with speeds reaching 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. Today, maximum temperatures in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, and Ferozepur are expected to range between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius.

The situation will be similar in Chandigarh. The minimum temperature here is expected to be 13 to 15 degrees Celsius, and the maximum around 30 degrees Celsius. No warning has been issued at this time. Due to the western disturbance, light rain is expected in the Himalayan regions from March 6th, but it will not directly impact Punjab.

Temperature will rise for the next four days

According to Surendra Pal Singh, Director of the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is expected to gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees over the next four days. After that, no significant change in temperature is expected. Strong surface winds with speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour are expected today as well.
