According to the Meteorological Department, maximum daytime temperatures are expected to be 20–22°C in the northern and eastern districts of the state, while the rest of the state may see maximum temperatures of 22–24°C until December 11. Daytime temperatures are expected to be normal to slightly below normal throughout the state this week.

Similarly, temperatures will be below normal in the northern districts of Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Ropar (Rupnagar), Mohali, and Kapurthala, and in southern Punjab, including Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala, Faridkot, Fazilka, Muktsar Sahib, Sangrur, and Malerkotla. Night temperatures are expected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.

According to Punjab, Chandigarh’s air is more polluted. Amritsar’s AQI at 6 am was recorded at 85, while Bathinda’s AQI was 76, Jalandhar’s AQI was 130, Khanna’s AQI was 151, Ludhiana’s AQI was 144, Mandi Gobindgarh’s AQI was 271, Patiala’s AQI was 128. While Chandigarh’s Sector-22’s AQI was 214, Sector-25’s AQI was 184 and Sector-52’s AQI was 172.
