Three Cricketers from Punjab to Receive ₹1.5 Crore Reward for Women’s World Cup Victory

Chandigarh: Nine days after the state’s historic Women’s World Cup victory, the Punjab government has given a significant gift to its female athletes. The government has announced that each female athlete residing in Punjab will receive a reward of ₹1.5 crore (1.5 crore rupees). The official announcement was made via social media.

Previously, the government was unable to make any announcements due to the code of conduct in place for the Tarn Taran by-election. Now, on the day of the election, the government has taken this decision to honour the players. This reward will benefit three women cricketers from Punjab: Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, and Amanjot Kaur.

Harmanpreet Kaur, a resident of Moga, is already a DSP in the Punjab Police, while Harleen and Amanjot are currently unemployed. On Saturday, both players were given a grand welcome in Chandigarh by Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema and MP Harmeet Singh Meet Hayer.
