12-year-old boy missing from Chheharta area Amritsar; Investigation underway

Amritsar: The news of a child going missing from Chheharta area in Amritsar, Punjab is becoming increasingly viral on social media. It was being claimed in the viral video that the child has been kidnapped. As soon as this news surfaced, Chheharta police immediately registered a case and started searching for the child.

But the investigation made it clear that the child was not kidnapped. The police got some information which made it clear that the child ran away from home on his own and no one kidnapped him. ACP Shivdarshan Singh informed that the police has started investigating the case. Efforts are being made to find the child as soon as possible and hand him over to the family.

He left the house with 10 thousand rupees

The missing child has been identified as Harsimran Singh (12 years), son of Jang Bahadur Singh, resident of Hargobind Nagar Chheharta. According to the information, Harsimran Singh left home for tuition at 6 pm as usual, but did not return after that. When he did not reach home for a long time, the family got worried and started looking for him. This incident also started being discussed on social media and many people called it a case of kidnapping.

But investigation revealed that the boy himself left the house and took 10 thousand rupees with him. Before leaving, he also met his friend Ansh. While leaving, he said that he was going to Darbar Sahib and would return after playing Holi.

Police response and appeal

Amritsar Police has appealed to people not to pay attention to kidnapping rumours and trust official information. Police said that the search for the child is going on vigorously and soon he will be found and handed over safely to his family. If anyone gets any information about the child, they should share it with the police.
