123 buses will be included in Punjab Roadways, routes will be surveyed in 15 days

Chandigarh: Soon around 123 new buses will be added to the fleet of Punjab Roadways. Along with this, now those routes will be identified on which private buses run more than government buses. All this action will be completed in 15 days. This order has been given to the officials by Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar. He has made it clear that after this government buses will be run on these routes.

20 super integral BS-6 compliant buses and 19 HVAC buses are being purchased in the fleet of PRTC under the kilometer scheme. Apart from this, 83 new buses are also being purchased by PRTC. These buses will be leased for 6 years under the kilometer scheme. Apart from this, no compromise will be made on the routes.

Laljit Singh Bhullar has asked the officers of the State Transport Commissioner’s Office to adopt effective recovery process to crack down on people who do not pay tax. Many officers including PRTC Chairman Ranjodh Singh Hadana, Additional Chief Secretary Transport DK Tiwari, STC Jaspreet Singh, MD Panbus Gupta were present in the meeting.
