24-year old woman from Sangrur dies in Canada

Sangrur: In a heart-wrenching incident, A 24-year-old woman from Sangrur, Punjab died in Canada under suspicious circumstances. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Anu Malra, resident of village Manki (Sangrur). Anu was working in Canada on a work permit. Anu’s father Gurpreet Singh said that his daughter Anu Malra went to Canada for studies.

Sangrur: In a heart-wrenching incident, A 24-year-old woman from Sangrur, Punjab died in Canada under suspicious circumstances. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Anu Malra, resident of village Manki (Sangrur). Anu was working in Canada on a work permit.

Anu’s father Gurpreet Singh said that his daughter Anu Malra went to Canada for studies about 4 years ago and was now working there on a work permit. Yesterday afternoon, someone from Anu’s family called him and told him that she was not well, and later it was known that Anu had died. According to the family, Anu was ill for a long time.

The victim’s family has appealed to the central and state governments for help. The family pleaded they should be helped so that Anu’s body can be brought back to India.

The family said that their daughter was living in Nova Scotia province of Canada. The news of Anu’s demise has left the family devastated. The Family’s only urge to both Centre and state governments is to help them in bringing back their daughter’s mortal remains to Punjab.
