Bilaspur: The special detection team of Bilaspur police has caught 3 drug smugglers. Police has recovered heroin from a car with Punjab number in tunnel number 3 patta located at Kiratpur Nerchowk four lane. Police has arrested all the three accused from the spot.
According to the police, when the team stopped and searched the car with Punjab registration number (PB02EM4426), 20 grams of heroin was found from the dashboard. The accused have been identified as Ramandeep Singh (28), Amritpal Singh (29) and Rahul (32), residents of Gumtala area of Amritsar, Punjab. A case has been registered against the three under the NDPS Act at Sadar police station.
ASP Shivkumar Chaudhary said that the police is now trying to find out from where the accused were bringing the drugs and where they were going to supply them. He said that a continuous campaign is being run against drug smugglers in the district and illegal drug smuggling will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The police is investigating the case thoroughly by interrogating the accused.
