According to the Meteorological Center, an orange alert has been issued in 6 districts of Punjab, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur today. Winds can blow at a speed of 50-60 kilometers here and there is also a possibility of rain. While a yellow alert has been issued in all other districts of Punjab.
The temperature is rising continuously after there was no rain for the last few days. On Wednesday evening, the average maximum temperature in the state has increased by 1.9 degrees Celsius, although it is around normal. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 43.8 degrees Celsius in Bathinda.
Along with the western disturbance, cyclonic circulation is also behind the change in the weather of Punjab. At present, this low-pressure area remains in the Malwa region of Punjab. On the other hand, at this time the western disturbance is active in the area of Pakistan. This is the reason why even after Punjab, rain and strong winds are blowing in the state.
Possibility of early arrival of monsoon
The pace of the monsoon is going ahead of time. Right now in many states it is running a week ahead of time. Where the monsoon was supposed to reach between 5 to 10 June, it can knock before time. It is estimated that if this continues, then the monsoon can enter Punjab before June 25. According to the current estimate, the entry of monsoon in Punjab is possible between 25 to 30.
