598 nominations filed in Punjab for Lok Sabha elections: Sibin C

It is to be noted that 15 nomination papers have been filed from Gurdaspur, among which the number of independent candidates is more.

Chandigarh: Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab Sibin C has said that 226 nomination papers were filed for 13 Lok Sabha seats on the last day of filing nominations for Lok Sabha Elections 2024. A total of 598 nomination papers have been filed in Punjab.

Thus, from May 7 to May 14, a total of 598 nomination papers have been filed in the state. It is to be noted that 15 nomination papers have been filed from Gurdaspur, among which the number of independent candidates is more.

Nominations filed on different seats in Punjab

– 18 nomination papers have been filed from Amritsar.

– 15 nomination papers have been filed from Khadur Sahib.

– 18 nomination papers have been filed from Jalandhar.

– 10 nomination papers have been filed from Hoshiarpur.

– 23 nomination papers have been filed from Anandpur Sahib and 31 from Ludhiana, in which there are more independents.

– Nomination papers have been filed by 17 candidates from Fatehgarh Sahib.

– 16 nomination papers have been filed from Faridkot.

– 19 nomination papers have been filed from Ferozepur. 17 nomination papers have been filed from Bathinda, 15 from Sangrur and 12 from Patiala, with more independents.

Nomination papers filed by the candidates will be scrutinized said  Sibin C till May 15 and the last date for withdrawing the nomination papers is May 17.
